In the autumn break, I also took a break from the gym. The week after the break, I started sporting again, still with pain in my calf. I was still tired. During that week, I felt ill; besides the tiredness, I had pain in my muscles. The cause could result from doing sports again. I had no fever, no cold, and I didn’t cough. So no symptoms of Covid-19, I thought.
On Monday, November 2th I had contact with the company doctor again. I was ashamed I couldn’t tell her I made progress. I worked so hard to get better and I didn’t know what was wrong. She wanted to contact my general practitioner and would send me a form for approval. I was a bit surprised she asked for this now, and not earlier. That week I was still feeling as bad as the week before. I thought it would be the stress of coping with the appointment with the company doctor.
At the end of the week, it went wrong between my boyfriend and me, and he broke up with me. I tried to do good for him and my daughter, despite my illness. I also waited for months for his daughter to accept me. I guess it just didn’t work. Being home alone gave me peace.
On November 14th former boyfriend called me to inform me that he was tested positive on Covid-19. The only symptom he had was a running nose. The health service (GGD) called me; My daughter and I had to go to quarantine as well. The nurse allowed me to do my groceries that same day, so I did.
I got tested as well by making up symptoms to get tested. I was also positive. When I told the nurse about my symptoms the first time and my symptoms from last month, the GGD confirmed I had Covid-19 for the second time. This time it was, different from the first time. Because I was adjusted to the blood-thinners, our quarantine time was 7 days.
After the quarantine, I went back to the gym. Because I was living in The Hague, going to the gym in Capelle aan den IJssel became a problem. Driving there and doing exercises were too exhausting and took too much of my energy. The measures made because Covid-19 made it difficult to book a lesson. So the gym offered me to quit for a few months. Not the best solution because going there helped me with my healing process, but I accepted.
