On crutches I went to the tram to get to the thrombosis service. It was a very exhausting trip for me, but I had to go because I needed the CoaguChek to take blood samples to adjust myself to the medication.
During my ride in the tram, the absenteeism consultant from my board called to hear how I was doing. Because I was in the tram we finished that call later on that Monday.
I used the CoaguChek about 14 years ago, so I needed to take a new course to learn to use the CoaguChek and the Portavita website. I was happy with this opportunity, because of the lock-down due Covid-19 and my immobility it was more convenient to take blood samples at home.
At home, the absenteeism consultant called me again. As you all know my story till this point, I told him the same. He listened and told me I had to work for my money. I felt really bad because I’m a hard worker and mostly I do more than employers ask of me. This man, who doesn’t know me, and knowing about my situation is telling me this?! It gave me a lot of extra stress.
Just that morning, the lady at the thromboses service told me I shouldn’t be in stressful situations because it would influence my medication. Worried and exhausted, I slept the rest of the afternoon. It affected me the rest of the week. Again a slap in the back, I was disappointed and more tired.
